The Txai Resort develops and supports projects and actions in order to benefit the region in the way of social and environmental sustainability.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

The Txai Social sponsors two projects in order to protect the biodiversity and the social sustainability of the region: the "Txaitaruga" and "Companheiros do Txai."

The "Txaitaruga" is a project that aims for the preservation of sea turtles that spawn on the Itacaré and Serra Grande beaches, which are endangered. More than 30km of shore are monitored by Txaitaruga technicians. The project was created in 2004 counting on a partnership with the Tamar project, Universidade Santa Cruz (UESC) and Track & Field.

The "Companheiros do Txai" (Txai fellows) is a project in partnership with Floresta Viva Institute, that aims to help smallholders on how to use the sources of the Atlantic Forest in a sustainable way. The project was created in order to give alternative income for the smallholders. Today it contains 23 families that play role in its actions.

Additionally, the Txai Resorts also supports a souvenir store and an organic fair, where the smallholders can market their products.
