This accommodation provider has taken action to address one or more issues (whether environmental, social or cultural) which will contribute positively to the long term viability of the destination and hence their site displays a Caring for the destination rating.

Main area of focus in Caring for the Destination:  

The Itacaré Village supports environmental and social projects in partnership with the NGO Floresta Viva.

Detailed description of the Caring for the Destination Initiative: 

The Itacaré Village supports the "Fazendinha de Cacau" project, in partnership with the NGO Floresta Viva. The hotel had revitalized and given to this NGO one of its most beautiful pieces of land in order to develop the project.

In the same area, the Itacare Village also implanted the Café Cacau, a replica of a regional store, where collaborators develops art crafts and regional snacks. This project helps to preserve and propagate the cocoa cultivation to guests, as well as to help with the sustenance of the project and of the families that are a part of it.

Additionally, the garbage from Itacaré Village is recycled and all the sewage is treated.
